The mission of Ohio Sinus Institute is to provide our patients with the highest quality care, attentive service and compassionate treatment. Ohio Sinus Institute will provide our patients with the most advanced techniques to treat, manage and cure their particular nasal and sinus disorder.

The Doctor
Boris Karanfilov, M.D. was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. He attended Bishop Watterson High School and then completed his undergraduate degree in molecular biology at The Ohio State University graduating summa cum laude.

After earning his medical degree from Ohio State, he went on to do a one-year general surgical internship at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He completed his Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery residency at The Ohio State University Medical Center.

After residency, he completed a one-year fellowship in Rhinology and Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery with the world renowned Rhinologist, Frederick A. Kuhn, M.D. Dr. Karanfilov is presently the most experienced fellowship trained sinus surgeon in Columbus, Ohio.

He has numerous publications in the field, is active at national meetings, has traveled to Europe for lectures, and has authored a book chapter on endoscopic management of frontal sinus disease.

His present research interests include: computer image-guided surgery, fungal sinusitis, medical management of polyp disease and applications of balloon sinuplasty to the management of chronic sinusitis.
